New Patient Registration & Practice Area
We regret to inform you that as from Monday 30th December 2019, Arlington Road Medical Practice will be undertaking a temporary list suspension. This means that we will not be registering new patients at our Practice.
We have had a rapid and continuing increase in the demand for new registrations and the Partners have agreed that continuing to register new patients could potentially jeopardise our ability to provide safe care to those patients already registered at the Practice.
However, we will continue to register:
- Newborn or adopted babies of parents already registered at the Practice who are still living within our boundary*.
- First degree relatives of patients already registered at the Practice who are living at the same address as registered patients and are still living within our boundary*.
- Patients from some care homes that we look after (details available on request)
* Practice Boundary. Please note: to register as a New Patient your address will need to fall within the red, solid boundary. The grey, intermittent line denotes the boundary for existing patients whose registration we will honour if they move within that outer boundary.
If you fall into one of the 3 categories above that we are able to register. Please telephone the Practice on 01323 727531 and we will arrange to send a registration pack to you in the post. You can return the registration documents to us in the post, or into our external post-box by hand. You will receive a confirmation text message from the Practice once your registration is complete.
If you request to register with the Practice, but do not fall into one of the above categories, we are required by NHS England to keep a list of your name and details but this is NOT a waiting list and the Practice is NOT able to maintain a waiting list of patients who would like to register in the future.
Once we are able to commence accepting NHS registrations, this information will be available at reception and on the Practice website. We are in discussion with the Clinical Commissioning Group to try to resolve this situation as quickly as we can and we are sorry for any inconvenience.
If you are not currently registered with a GP surgery and are finding it difficult to locate one, please call Eastbourne, Hailsham and Seaford Clinical Commissioning Group on 0300 131 4425 (based at Bexhill Hospital) and speak to the Primary Care Team.
